Congratulations to George and Helen Kunkel of Lynchburg, the winners of this year's Central Virginia St. Jude Dream Home!
This year's home, located in the Blackwater Run neighborhood of Lynchburg off Rivermont Ave., is valued at $700,000, features 2,900 square feet of living space with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths.
The home was built by L.G. Flint General Contractors.
Additional winners include:
- Jacqueline Hamlet of Madison Heights who won a $10,000 Gift Card to Greenfront Furniture in Farmville.
- Barbara Ramsey of Gladys who won a $10,000 VISA Gift Card courtesy of the Dream Day Foundation.
- Carroll Cook of Lynchburg who won a brand new Kubota Utility Vehicle courtesy of Kubota of Lynchburg worth over $20,000.
- Thomas Johnson of Amherst who won a $5,000 VISA Gift Card courtesy of Pinnacle Financial Partners.
Dream Home tickets went on sale back in May and sold out within weeks, raising $1.6 million for St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN to help in their mission to cure childhood cancer. No family ever receives a bill for their child's treatment.
This is the eighth year in a row that New Country 107.9 YYD and iHeartRadio Roanoke/Lynchburg have worked hand-in-hand with ABC 13 - WSET on the Central Virginia St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, raising more than $8.5 million to help the kids at St. Jude.
