Gleaning For The World is now collecting emergency supplies and financial donations to support victims of the devastating floods in Texas.
On Tuesday, July 8, and Wednesday, July 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Gleaning staff and volunteers will be stationed outside Sam’s Club on Wards Rd. in Lynchburg, collecting disaster relief supplies for immediate shipment to Texas.
Gleaning’s disaster response team is working with trusted partners in Texas to coordinate the delivery of urgently needed supplies directly into the hardest-hit communities.
Requested donations include:
- Nonperishable food items; Baby supplies; Hygiene items
- Cleanup and household supplies (trash bags, mops, brooms, laundry detergent)
- Shelter supplies (paper products, plastic totes with lids)
All donated items must be new, unopened, and unused.
Donors may purchase items from any store and bring them to the collection site.
Financial contributions can be made in person during the collection at Sam’s Club; online at GFTW.org; or by mailing a check to: Gleaning For The World; PO Box 645, Concord, VA 24538.
GFTW thanks members of our community for their contributions:
